A design intake checklist covering dimensions, intended use, material constraints, tolerances, deadline, and approved reference files.

Start with 10 consecutive eligible tasks, or all tasks in one week; retain exceptions and record the sample size.

Acceptance boundary: Never infer safety-critical tolerances or material suitability; the designer validates the brief.

02OWNER INPUT NEEDED

Can print-cost and energy comparisons preserve the same accepted part quality?

A baseline sheet joining existing slicer estimates, measured job time, scrap, metered electricity, and an owner-defined acceptance checklist; compare settings only after the designer accepts equivalence.

What we could measure together

Measure: Total electrical energy per accepted conforming part (Wh/accepted part).

Start with 10 consecutive eligible tasks, or all tasks in one week; retain exceptions and record the sample size.

Acceptance boundary: No automatic machine control; slicer estimates are not measurements, and faster or lighter prints are not wins if function or quality changes.

03OWNER INPUT NEEDED

Could a design-to-production handoff prevent fabrication from an outdated file?

A local job manifest that records approved CAD/export file hashes, material, machine profile, revision, and sign-off before a run.

What we could measure together

Measure: Builds started from an unapproved or outdated revision (percent of builds).

Start with 10 consecutive eligible tasks, or all tasks in one week; retain exceptions and record the sample size.

Acceptance boundary: Do not alter design files or expose customer IP; retain the source file and human approval.
